Goten-yama hanami. Edo citizens enjoy picnicking, cherry blossom viewing and entertainments as they stroll along a bluff lined with blooming cherry trees. We see a food vendor grilling a treat at a stand as well as numerous entertainers, samurai and even a couple of stumbling drunks. Hiroshige has communicated the delights of a beautiful spring day and all the public pleasures it has to offer. Extremely rare; note that museum examples are of much later versions of this design.
