The enchanting courtesan Kurozome appears as the magical spirit of the cherry tree. She manifests in the Kabuki play “Tsumoru Koi no Seki no To” to thwart the evil plans of Lord Kuronushi to cut down an ancient cherry tree. This is one of the top three designs in the series, and is from an early edition. The white in her garments has embossed detailing. Three-color cartouche indicates a first state.

Condition: Excellent impression and color. Very good condition. Nearly invisible center fold. Three-color cartouche.
