“Children Playing.” A foreign woman watches several children sledding down a grassy slope, ships at anchor glimpsed in the distance. The boys are riding wooden sleds; was this activity actually enjoyed in the absence of snow? A rather early Yokohama image; at this time the Japanese were extremely curious to learn about the habits of the new foreign residents of Yokohama.
