Okawagishi Ichinohashi enkei (Distant View of the Ichinohashi Bridge from the Great [Sumida] River Embankment). Rare design of two running men with a passenger in a ricksha, all seen in silhouette. A yellow moon rises above the far bank, surrounded by clouds, the moonlight reflecting in the water. This work almost feels comforting compared to his other night scenes of the time, perhaps because the main source of illumination is the full moon, a source of light in the sky that is not here eclipsed by gas lanterns or anything man-made.
