“Snow Scene at Koume Hikifune-dôri” (Koume Hikifuni-dôri yuki no kei). Two women walk near a bridge by a riverbank, one holding a Japanese-style umbrella, and one holding a western-style umbrella. As this is a midday scene in traditional countryside, we don’t feel any of the alienation we see in the more modern-looking street scenes. The women are facing us, and seemed engaged in pleasant conversation. There is mica in the grey pigment, adding beauty to the scene. One can also see strong woodgrain in the sky.

Condition: Excellent impression and color. Very good condition. Smudge in right margin.
