The top performer Takezawa Tôji performing at Ryogoku in 1844. He stands atop a stage, one top sliding on his shoulders as another seems to be spouting water from a bowl balanced atop two lacquer tables. An even larger top rests on two cushions lower right. From the collection of the Meiji historian Asakura Musei, with a manuscript note in his hand dating the performance.
Condition: Excellent impression and color. Very good condition. Binding holes right and hand-written paper scrap affixed to upper right.
