This charming beach scene shows a woman done by Kunisada and a landscape by Hiroshige II. A beauty looks at hamaguri, a clam from her basket. In the background are people busy digging for shells. The red building complex is Suzaki Benten. Kunisada must have just celebrated kiju: seventy-seven years old. The character ‘ki’ can be written like ‘seventy-seven’, therefore celebrated as ki-no-ji no iwai, celebration of a happy age. The print is made to be mounted onto a fan. The series title is “Thirty-six Views of the Eastern Capital”.
Condition: Very good impression, color and condition. Miniscule area of wormage.
