Chitasei Goyô (Wu Yong) is posed next to his astrological implements as stars twinkle above the scene. The text on the print describes Wu Yong as the military strategist of the Liangshan marsh gang and give his nickname as “The great Intelligence (Clever star). He seems to be performing a calculation, using his fingers to keep count and he wears a translucent hat that is beautifully printed. There is a celestial globe and what appears to be a sextant (or quadrant) at his feet. The celestial globe was used to determine the time in which the celestial bodies would rise and set, as well as the altitude and azimuth of the bodies at any given time. Chitasei Goyô is known for his wisdom, and was entrusted with strategic planning for the Ryôsanpaku gang of bandit/heroes.
