Koson 小原古邨 : Two Crows in Moonlight (First Edition)

Title: Two Crows Perch on a Winter Branch  Date: 1927

Two jungle crows (Corvus macrorhynchos) perch on a branch in winter, the full moon hanging white against a soft blue sky. Even the Muller example has the later Watanabe publisher that was in use in the 1930s.  Shoson was the name that Koson signed when working with the publisher Watanabe. With the “Made in Japan” seal affixed , verso, that indicates that the work was exported from Japan in the 1920s or early 1930s.

Condition: Excellent impression; very good color and condition.
