Koson 小原古邨 : Egret Flying in a Storm
Artist: Ohara Koson (1877-1945)
Title: Egret Flying in a Storm
Date: ca. 1920s-1930s
A snow-white egret (Egretta garzetta) flying in a storm looks down, perhaps eying a safe landing place to weather the elements. The grey streaks of wind have been beautifully printed, and the graceful willow boughs wave towards the left in the gusts. Verso is the prewar “Made in Japan” seal that prints intended for export in the 1930s were required to bear. This work was published prior to 1935.
Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition.
Dimensions: 36.6 x 18.5 cm
