Koson 小原古邨 : Bantam Rooster, Hen and Chick

A beautiful bantam rooster guards a curious hen who looks at a crawling beetle. The yellow chick is also eyeing the insect. The rooster has handsome, blindprinted white feathers that are edged in yellow. Koson works that are signed “Shoson” were published by Watanabe Shozaburo. Somewhat scarce to find in this condition.
