“Scene of Cherry Blossoms at Night in the New Yoshiwara” (Shin Yoshiwara yozakura kei). Three people strolling in this famous pleasure district turn to look at the arrival of a bowler-hatted visitor arriving by rickshaw. Yasuji’s prints are rarer than prints by Kiyochika, although they are stylistically quite similar. He died tragically young, at age 25.
