Three turtles swim in an eddy amidst floating seaweed. One seems to look at a poem that has been overlaid with a branch of flowering plum. The poem is sighed Shikyô and seems to herald the coming of spring. It may read:
Yorozu yo no, Haru tatsu sora ni, Uguisu no, Hatsune o matsu no mo ni
Asobu kame
