Porters carry passengers across the Oi River crossing in descending levels of luxury. Foreground we see a woman in a palanquin; middle distance women are carried on a wooden platform and then in far distance a woman rides on the shoulders of a man. The features of the porters are appropriately rough for such swarthy fellows.

Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition. Two hinging remnants upper verso.
