A river rushes down a rocky decline towards smoother water, large rocks in the foreground that are given lovely texture by the printers. In the background are autumn leaves in full color, with the trees in the distance fading away to softer colors, as would be seen in person. The scholar Hisao Shimizu loved these postwar scenes, as he observed that Hasui was simplifying the designs to their most essential compositional elements (personal communication). With the appropriate Watanabe seal to make this a first edition.

Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition. Mint.
