Harunobu 春信: The Departure (Sold)

A woman hands her lover what appears to be her own robe tie, as it matches her own kimono design, holding on to his with her left hand. The man is in the process of dressing, and seems to be gesturing for his own tie which she keeps on her lap with her left hand. She seems displeased at the parting, and perhaps she would like a sign of his fidelity to her. The poem at top apparently refers to the farewell aspect of love.

Condition: Excellent impression, color and condition. Perfectly preserved color and untrimmed.
