Drawing for a print in the harimaze style, composed of related elements within discrete shapes. The title at the top reads Ryûsai manga. We see a woman on a boat beneath a bridge, a bird on a peony branch, a Noh performance and Ariwara no Narihira admiring Mt. Fuji while seated beneath a pine tree.
Hiroshige II was a pupil of Hiroshige I (1797-1858). After Hiroshige II’s retirement to Yokohama about 1865, he began calling himself Hiroshige II and using his master’s surname of Andô.
Condition: On very thin paper; mounted at the top to thin backing paper.
