A young woman beams in delight as her cat plays with the cloth she is holding out for it. The cat wears a red collar with a bell, and the outlines of its fur have been blindprinted with the karazuri, or gauffrage technique, as the body of the feline is white. The young woman wears a beautiful kimono with patterns of butterflies against a spring green background with a latticed chrysanthemum pattern. The young woman wears a chrysanthemum in her own hair as well, and her red under-kimono is decorated with plovers.
