Lady Matsushima sits and writes a long letter with her brush, unrolling the paper as she goes. She wears a luxurious kimono and next to her is a large vase holding plum branches. Lady Matsushima was an attendant of the shogun Minamoto no Sanetomo (1192-1219) and was in love with Asahina Yoshihide.

Condition: Very good impression, color and condition. Untrimmed and unbacked. Small pinhole.
