Three stars peek out between a mottled tree and moonlight-dappled wooden structure. Hasui has effectively captured the colors and feeling of early evening, with very subtle tonalities and shading. First edition, with the earliest Watanabe seal that was applied during this period (1924-1930). Completely unfaded examples like this one have a soft green color in most of the foreground that can appear in other examples as faded to blue. The exquisite subtleties of color and printing effects can best be appreciated in early, unfaded examples like this one.
