Kappô wakaharu Ginza Mihara Kôji. Unique double-sided special occasion print made for a restaurant in Ginza. On the front is a moonlit evening scene showing Ryoanji Rock Garden, (Ryû Kakuji Seitei) in Kyoto. It must have been produced for a special occasion-- perhaps the restaurateur was a friend of Hasui or Watanabe. The poetic-looking writing verso is Omotenashi, lines that express the feeling of the restaurant. Verso there is a white-line design (also by Hasui) and calligraphy by another hand. This work is unpublished and has never been seen before by Hisao Shimizu, former curator of the Ota City Museum and world expert on Hasui.
