Two stars are positioned above two structures on the Shinkawa River, comprising a perfect summer evening scene. A soft yellow light glows between them. This rare pre-earthquake print is one of the most highly prized Hasui designs by the Japanese. Hasui himself wrote “It was a crystal-clear summer night, the sky just like the indigo blue of a woodblock print. There are one or two stars in the sky, and the light of the gas lamp illuminates the space between the massive storehouses.”

Condition: Very good impression, color and condition. Very light soiling on margins.
