Kuchi-e of a woman from the Genroku period seen steadying herself in alarm; a fateful object in the shape of a rod with with a straw bundle at the top seems to be flying towards her.Kuchi-e were frontispieces for novels, and were created to show the essence of characters and the meaning of the story. 

Condition: Very good impression and color; good condition. With some pigment transfer from another design. Fold lines, as usual. Dimensions: 22.1 x 30.2 cm
