Moon Over Akebi Bridge. A full moon rises over the Akebi Bridge in the garden of the Mountain Villa Kenan. We can sense the luxurious quiet of the private summer evening. This series was commissioned by the Iwasaki family, who were the original founders of Mitsubishi. The prints in this series were later sold to foreign visitors when the villa was converted into a hotel, The Hotel de Yama, a resort in Hakone that is still in business on Lake Ashi. This is from the first and only edition, with the round Watanabe seal, lower right corner and an embossed title.
