It is evening, and the sky features prominent woodgrain and lots of skillful bokashi. Each flower is given dimensionality by bokashi as well, and the centers of each flower contain carefully printed yellow pistils. There is burnishing (\u003cem\u003eshomenzuri\u003c\/em\u003e), creating shiny black areas on some feathers of the crow. Koson is famous for his crows, and this one presents a very detailed, painterly study of one of his favorite subjects. A very painterly print from the artist famous for this technique.
