Kagurajishi Daihachi runs forward with a frantic expression, perhaps in an attempt to stop something violent and inevitable. He holds a bar in his hand while three swords and another weapon are scattered about. The text is written by Sanzan-tei Arindo. This series was one of Yoshitoshi’s earliest major efforts and chronicles the men involved in violent clashes between two gambling rings in Shimosa Proince in 1849.
