Ancient crimson pillars frame the view towards the temple of Horyu-ji in Nara. Horyu-ji is one of Japan’s oldest temples, founded in 607 by Prince Shotoku, and contains some of the world’s oldest surviving wooden structures. It was the first structure in Japan to be declared a World Heritage Site. In this view trees line the path, and another entrance gate beckons in the distance. Titled, dated and editioned by the artist in pencil at bottom. With a limited edition number of 75/80.
