Tea Flowers and Daurian Redstarts (Winter) (Cha no hana ni hitaki fuyu). Two native redstarts with beautiful orange plumage perch on white tea flowers. The bird on the left is the male and the one on the right is the female. They are posed with  the plants used to make tea, and the bamboo stake is commonly used in supporting the plants in agriculture.  This is from the second edition, printed around 1940. Number 61 from the series “Rakusan’s Bird and Flower Prints”. Works from this series are acclaimed for their very high printing quality.
