Hasui: Golden-banded Lilies (Sold)

Lilies explode against a deep indigo/black background. Hasui did very few closeup nature studies, as here. With the seal of Ono Gintaro, Watanabe’s most respected printer, lower right margin. It is interesting to note that there is no rubbing or pigment transfer between the very deep background and the white lilies, a testament to the skill of the printer.
