Princess Yaegaki carries a helmet across a frozen lake to save her lover, the son of Takeda Shingen. She is guided by magical foxfires that protect her on her perilous journey. Her father is Shingen’s mortal rival, Uesugi Kenshin. The three-color cartouche indicates a first state. The floating flames are visual shorthand for supernatural goings-on.

Condition: Excellent impression and color. Very good condition. Backed, with narrow margins. Three-color cartouche.
