Two uncut chuban prints that have been backed with a decorative sheet and was folded for presentation. To the left we see a rat holding the empty collar of a cat. Behind him are assembled rats dressed and observing as samurai might. The title of the left is “Nezumi no sogan (kaigi) no monogatari (Meeting of the Rats). To the right is Ito Teashi no monogatari; The Story of Body Parts (?). The eyes seem to be fighting with the ears. The nose , the arms and the mouth are all bowing down before a top-hatted, smoking “brain” that has been labled “Financier” (?). The teeth is scratching its head. Perhaps these are a commentary on western influence?

Condition: Very good impression and color. Fair condition. Intentionally backed with decorative print.
